Moola Services

Terms and Conditions

These terms govern your use of moolaservices.co.za and any service you order through it. By registering, placing an order, or opening a query case, you agree to them. Please also read our Disclaimer and Privacy Policy.

Who can use Moola Services

To register and order a service, you must:

  • be 16 years old or older,
  • use your own South African ID number, not someone else’s,
  • give us accurate, current information about yourself, and
  • keep your password confidential, and tell us if you think someone else has it.

Registration asks for your full name, South African ID number, mobile number and a password, validated against the standard South African ID format. Your ID number and mobile number must each be unique to your account — you cannot register twice with the same one.

Placing an order

You choose the services you need, add them to your basket, and review the total before you confirm. You must tick a box confirming that you accept these terms, including the no-refund policy below, before your order can be placed. You need to be logged in to check out — if you are not, we send you to register or log in first, and bring you back to your basket.

Payment and when work starts

Once placed, your order is given a reference number and a status of Awaiting payment. You pay by EFT or in person, quoting that reference. No banking details appear anywhere on this website — we give them to you directly once your order is placed. We start work on your order once a member of staff has confirmed your payment and marked the order Paid.

Moola Services may decline or cancel an order

We may decline to accept an order, or cancel one after acceptance, for reasons including suspected fraud, information we cannot verify, or a service we are not able to provide. If we cancel an order before any work has started on it, any payment you have already made for it is returned to you.

No refunds once work has started

Once we have started work on a service, or a service has been rendered, it is not refundable, subject to South African law. This does not take away any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. If Moola Services is unable to deliver a service you have paid for at all — for example because we cannot complete it — the money you paid for that service is returned to you.

Document certification

Moola Services does not certify documents itself; that is done by a commissioner of oaths or another person authorised under South African law. Our fee covers administration and logistics only — it is not a government or statutory fee — and we cannot guarantee that any particular authority will accept the certified copy. See our Disclaimer and Document certification assistance page.

Legal Advice and Know Your Rights

Moola Services is not a law firm and our staff are not lawyers. These services give you general information about South African employment law, not legal advice in the professional sense, and we do not represent you in any legal matter. Where we refer you to an independent lawyer or other professional, we take no part in, no commission from and no benefit from their fees, and the referral is not an endorsement or a guarantee of their work or of any outcome.

Memberships

A Legal Smart membership (R30 a month) covers unlimited queries about the law. A Job & Legal Smart membership (R50 a month) also covers queries about the rights, rules, regulations and laws specific to your own job and workplace.

  • Memberships do not include a legal consultation with our staff.
  • Memberships do not include a consultation with an independent lawyer or other legal professional.
  • Memberships do not cover any fee charged by an independent lawyer or other professional. Moola Services does not benefit from those fees.

A membership becomes active once a staff member marks its first payment as paid, and its paid-until date moves forward by one month each time a further payment is marked paid. See Memberships for the full comparison.

Using the service properly

You agree not to:

  • give us false information, or use someone else’s ID number or identity,
  • upload a document that is not yours, or that you do not have the right to share with us,
  • ask us to help certify, submit or process a fraudulent or altered document,
  • abuse, threaten or harass Moola Services staff, or
  • use the website or our services for any unlawful purpose.

Any document you upload to a case must be your own, or a document you have the right to share with us on someone else's behalf (for example, a parent uploading a child's document). We may decline to act on a document we reasonably believe is not genuine.

Liability

We take reasonable care in everything we do, but to the extent permitted by South African law, Moola Services is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of our services, and our liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service giving rise to that claim. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability, or any of your rights, that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited — including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

Our intellectual property

The text, layout, logo, graphics and design of moolaservices.co.za belong to Moola Services. You may view and print pages for your own personal use — for example, printing an order or case summary — but you may not copy, republish or reuse our content commercially without our written permission.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we add a new service or clarify a policy. The version on this page, with its "last updated" date, is always the current one. If you keep using Moola Services after a change, that means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of South Africa, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
