Legal advice

One clear question, one clear answer. Bring us the letter, the contract or the situation that is worrying you, and we will explain in ordinary language what the law says about it and what your options are.

R60 once-off. If you would rather sit down and go through everything properly, book a Know Your Rights consultation instead.

Legal Advice

R60

Once-off payment

Prices shown include everything described on this page. Nothing is added at checkout, and there is no joining fee. From R60.

What is included

You get

  • A written answer to your question, in plain language, kept on your case so you can read it again.
  • An explanation of which law or rule applies to your situation and what it actually says.
  • The practical options open to you, and the realistic consequences of each one.
  • Where a deadline applies — and in employment matters they are often short — we will tell you what it is.
  • An honest answer about whether you need a lawyer, and where you can find one.

Not included

  • Legal representation. We do not act for you, appear for you, or negotiate on your behalf.
  • Drafting court papers, pleadings or any document that must be filed with a court or tribunal.
  • An opinion from an admitted attorney or advocate.
  • Any guarantee about the outcome of your matter.

What we need from you

  • Your question, written down as clearly as you can manage.
  • Any document that matters: the contract, the warning letter, the dismissal letter, the payslip.
  • The dates. In employment matters the dates are very often the whole story.
  • What you have already done about it, and what you would like to happen.

You can upload PDF, JPG or PNG files of up to 10 MB each straight onto your case, or bring the originals to us and we will upload them for you.

Payment
EFT or in person. Your order reference is how we match it to you.
Turnaround
Usually within two to three working days of payment, sooner where a deadline is close.
Where it lives
Every job is a case with its own number, visible in your account from start to finish.

    We start work

Once the payment is confirmed your case moves from Awaiting payment to Open, and we begin.
  4. 4

    You collect the result

Finished work is attached to your case, so you can download it from your account whenever you need it again.

Protect yourself, Know your rights

Moola Services is not a law firm

We are not a law firm and our staff are not lawyers. What we give you is general information about the law, so you can understand your position and decide what to do — it is not legal advice from an admitted legal practitioner and it is not representation.

If we refer you to a lawyer

Where a matter genuinely needs a lawyer we will say so, and we may refer you to an independent lawyer or other legal professional. Moola Services takes no part in, no commission from and no benefit from that professional’s fees. A referral is not an endorsement of that person and not a guarantee of any outcome. You are free to choose anyone you like. Read the full disclaimer.

Ask as often as you like

If you have questions regularly, a membership is cheaper: R30 a month for unlimited queries about the law.

Ready when you are
